Infant & Child CPR, Choking, AED & First Aid @ FAIRFAX 9/19

Nested’s Infant & Child CPR, Choking, AED & First Aid Certification Class is designed to equip parents, grandparents, babysitters, nannies, teachers, and caregivers with the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to recognize and respond to pediatric emergencies.
Whether you’re welcoming a new baby, caring for young children, or simply want the confidence to act in an emergency, this course provides practical, evidence-based training that could help save a life.
In this class, you will:
- Learn how to recognize and respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in infants and children
- Practice high-quality CPR for infants and children
- Learn how to recognize and respond to choking emergencies
- Learn how and when to safely use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Understand how to respond to common pediatric first aid emergencies, including bleeding, burns, allergic reactions, seizures, poisoning, and more
- Practice hands-on skills using specialized infant and child CPR manikins under the guidance of a certified instructor
- Build the confidence to respond calmly during real-life emergencies
Blended Learning Format
This class follows the American Red Cross Blended Learning format, combining self-paced online learning with an engaging, hands-on skills session.
Before Class
After registering, you’ll receive access to the American Red Cross online course, which can be completed at your own pace from home. The online portion typically takes 1–2 hours and must be completed before your scheduled in-person class.
During the In-Person Class
Our certified American Red Cross instructor will review key concepts, answer your questions, and guide you through extensive hands-on practice, including:
- Infant CPR
- Child CPR
- Choking relief techniques
- AED use
- First aid skills
- Emergency response scenarios
This hands-on session is designed to help you develop the confidence and muscle memory needed to respond effectively in an emergency.
American Red Cross Certification
Upon successful completion of both the online learning and the in-person skills assessment, participants will receive an American Red Cross Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Certification, valid for 2 years.
This certification meets OSHA workplace requirements and is widely accepted by employers, childcare organizations, schools, and healthcare facilities.

- A registration confirmation email
- Instructions for accessing the American Red Cross online course (sent approximately 7–10 days before your in-person class)
- A reminder email with class logistics and location details a few days before your class
