Leela is a rising senior at Georgetown Day School and serves as the Medical Mission Coordinator for Project Nido 2026. She has been involved with Project Nido for the past seven years with the fellowship program. Leela works closely with the dentist in Ecuador, Dr. Lenin, helping and assisting him throughout the week in complex dental procedures. She also spends much of her time working directly with children in the community, helping them feel comfortable and cared for during clinic visits and outreach activities
Over the years, Leela has contributed to fundraising efforts, grant writing, development of educational materials, supply organization, and community health initiatives supporting underserved families in Ecuador. Her calm presence, patience, and ability to connect with children have made her an important part of the team. She brings her compassion, strong commitment, and experience to service to every aspect of her work.
